Hey! I’m Tara. I’m a full time mom of two adorable boys, part time nurse, and full on foodie who loves to cook, eat, hike, read, travel and seek adventure:)
I created this site for those interested in a plant based diet, who just don’t know where to start or what the heck to eat. When my family first embarked on our plant based journey a few years back, I also found myself at a complete loss as to how to even make a sandwich (no cheese?!) let alone put together a meal. You’re not alone! And as you’ve surely discovered, for every great recipe there are probably ten times as many awful ones. Not fun when you’re trying to navigate a new way to feed yourself or your family. I stumbled through my fair share of these recipes during our transition (some so completely inedible/ gross that they ended up straight in our compost pile) and I’m hoping I can save you from the same trouble. With a bit of time (and experimenting), I’ve amassed this great collection of fantastic, truly delicious, mostly nutritious plant based recipes that I am repeatedly asked for and am excited to share here with you now.
During my quest for delicious vegan recipes that were truly worthy of friends, family and company, I literally bought, borrowed and read every plant based cookbook I could get my hands on. I also went on to successfully complete Rouxbe’s 6 month Professional Plant Based culinary cooking course. I’ve learned a lot and honestly cooking vegan food and experimenting with new foods and flavours has become second nature to me. I am passionate about cooking and creating delicious food and I’ve spent countless hours trying new recipes, creating my own, and ‘veganizing’ many of our our family’s old favourites.
Whether you’re interested in starting with Meatless Mondays or fully committing (or already committed! Yay!) to a plant based diet, this collection of ‘tried and true’ recipes will likely become recipes that you too will make on a regular basis. Changing your diet can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but give it a try! A whole new world of foods and flavours awaits you! You won’t be disappointed.
